Pet Duck

Squeaker in the car seat!

Squeaker not happy sharing the couch w/ Ruby (the dog)

I just had to share this! My "new co-worker", Tammy, at my new job, (who I can already feel I can call a "friend"...she's so kewl) has a duck for a house pet! His name is Squeaker! He goes everywhere with her...in the car in a carseat, in a special stroller for walks...even has specialty diapers for inside the house! Not only does she have Squeaker as a house pet, she also has 2 indoor turtles, 2 outdoor ducks, 2 dogs, 10 cats, and a goat (hope I got that count right!)...plus a rescued duck with a broken leg! This rescued duck is such a tear-jerking story! She found him/her injured at a Lewisburg pond/lake, a cop was not going to allow her to take the duck, said "that's just nature", but she wouldn't allow the duck to suffer and took the duck, took it to a vet and the vet said that the duck needed a pin in it's leg...not having the money for it's care, Tammy was able to raise donations from her "Duck Group" so that the duck can have the surgery! After his/her recovery, he/she will be adopted by another member of the Duck Group! It is just so awesome to hear all about it! The rest of us sit there discussing our dramatic lives as mothers of "monsters" and Tammy tells us about her pet duck, who I'm ABSOLUTELY SURE is 10X more well behaved than my own two "demons"!

I'm Baaack!

Well, hello there! My it's been such a long time since my last post! The sun has been shining so brightly, that most of my time has been spent outdoors, watching Poopey ride her new-to-her "Big Bike" with the neighbor kids, Kaitlyn and Angel...
also Roosevelt has visited us from time to time...keeping her busy in the backyard! Also...finally after almost a whole solid year...I was finally hired at a local office. I am now an Order Entry Clerk, entering orders for window blinds of all types! I think I will love the job. The office is centrally located in our down town area. While training, I am working the day shift. Then I will move to my hire shift, which will be 1130am to 8pm, not exactly the hours I wanted...it will be tough with child care, but I have to start somewhere and work my way up! I feel so much better about myself... it has already increased my self-esteem 10 fold, being able to dress for success each day, having a place to go with purpose each day, a sense of "belonging", no longer feeling like I'm everything that I accused DH of being (a BUM)! I took some pics of the views off the balcony of our office building. Our office suite is on the fourth floor, so we have a lovely view of the city, primarily Southern views, but awesome...one of the reasons I love my hometown so much (pics above, click on them once to view larger) As you can see, my town is surrounded by beautiful mountains and hills, we are known as the River Valley!

Deejer gave me these flowers as a Congratulations gift! He can be so sweet sometimes!
